Ahmed El-Mohammadi joins Sunderland

Egyptian Fullback El-Mohammadi

Egyptian Fullback El-Mohammadi

Official: Ahmed el Mohammadi joins Sunderland on loan.

It’s official, Steve Bruce has finally landed his long term target, our very own Egyptian international Fullback, Ahmed El-Mohammadi.

Steve Bruce has taken a liking to Egyptians

Steve Bruce has taken a liking to Egyptians

Steve Bruce already has a history with Egyptian players as he coached Amr Zaki and Mido at Wigan before. He obviously rates Egyptian players and still has hope that they can succeed in England following the signing of Ahmed el-Mohammadi.

The move comes after months and months of negotiations between ENPPI and Sunderland. The Egyptian club has agreed to allow the 22-year-old to join the Black Cats on a season long loan for 500,000 english pounds. The English club has first option to purchase El-Mohammadi permanently for another 2 million pounds at the end of the season.

Speaking to Filgoal.com, El-Mohammadi has already declared that he knows what he has to do in order to succeed at Sunderland whether on or off the pitch. He has also expressed his desire to stay in the premier league for a minimum of 3 years (inshallah he will). He has also stated that he won’t follow in the shameful footsteps of the players before him (such as Zaki, Mido and Ghaly) who all had infamous stints with premier league clubs but were quickly offloaded because of their indiscipline.

Mohammadi and Zidan

Mohammadi and Zidan

Great move for a great player in the making. He has all the attributes to make it there, may it be discipline (which is rather rare in Egyptian players), stamina, strength or pace. Here’s hoping he keeps his head down and focuses on doing his job without causing too many problems.

Good Luck El-Mohammadi!

Uthman and KAzi

I rather be In a blog where no body answers me than be in a blog where the admin. Make the following claim
By Hany | June 30th, 2010 at 12:39 pm

Infinite, you nailed it bang on head with the regional FOOTBALL rivalries here. Those teams really don’t care about personal glory as much as they care to bring us down. It’s sad to be honest, they showcase what they are capable of when they play against us but when they play for themselves they play without ambition or drive. As for Cameroon, I can only wish they start fixing this problem, I have an everlasting admiration for them (I think it’s clear in the article that I’m pissed off because of the huge expectations I had for them rather than being a hater).
“I did not know that we have to go to the play by play action
I am sure that that game was full of infractions that deserved red card.”

And when you try to counter his claim, the guy resort to deleting you r comments. That what we call being a hypocrite.

Good point Jsk, algerians are welcomed in this blog as long as they agree with what hany says;)

Nazim- what’s gong on bro I hope all is well with you and the family

nazim I’m not going to speak for Hany but I think what he means is that a victory over Egypt for those countries particularly Algeria is there number one priority. Before the world cup many many Algerian commentators posted similar opinions saying we don’t care what happens as long as we beat Egypt. I’m not saying that is the official policy or everyones thinking but you must admit many Algerian don’t care about losing other games as long as they beat Egypt.
Of course Algeria wants to win all their games what he is saying is nothing compares to the motivation Algeria has when playing Egypt . But that’s not really an abnormal thing if you look at every continent there is a dominating team that the other teams and fans only care about. We don’t have to go far in Egypt for example there is nothing like beating al ahly ask many zamalek fans they will tell you it’s more important go them to beat ahly than to win the cup. It’s really not an insult at least I don’t think hany meant it as an insult.

i agree with bahaa. its true that playing egypt is always a big motivation to give 120%. thats no miracle, as egypt, despite not beeing in wc, is still africas best IMO (please no insults, its the absolute truth). i was hoping this will change soon and algeria takes over, but with saadane staying i cant see our team reaching the next level.
Derbys are always a big thing, even when germany plays its neighboor holland they honestly say that this means more motivation for both teams. the same with ireland and england, spain and portugal, usa and mexico……
unfortunatly i got insulted once by an algerian fellow here on this egyptian blog…remember Nazim how you called me son of a b…., because i dont agree with you, and you did it more than once.
but what happened, happened. fact is no hany, no bahaa, no tamim called me that way, even if i have another opinions from time to time….i just dont feel comfortable when i post on an algerian blog, when i know the chances getting my mother insulted are more than good.
Hany and me rarly support the same team, i support algeria, germany, algerian clubs. he supports egypt, argentina and ahly…maybe im wrong, but i never had the feeling he is an unfair person, honestly for an arabe he deals pretty good with other opinions, well, but thats just my personal observation.

“And when you try to counter his claim, the guy resort to deleting you r comments. That what we call being a hypocrite.”

You don’t counter. You, as Hisham said, get offended and start twisting and changing the argument to suit you. That’s no way to debate, when you learn to accept criticism maybe I’ll start debating you, but we both know that won’t happen soon. You said I hate these countries, when it’s obvious I was talking about FOOTBALL (notice the Caps-Lock? ofcourse not it doesn’t apply to your logic). I don’t think I said anything offensive, your head-to-head record with us speaks for itself, you defeated us more then we defeated you meaning that you could be atleast equal to us when you want to (if not better). After checking that, go tell me who has more trophies? You will find that it’s Egypt, because we care more about winning trophies and not just winning derbies. I’m sure if you played in the African Cup of Nations with the same spirit and drive as the Blida match, you would have more than that lonely Cup you won AT home. So spare me you’re crying and start talking football.

Uthman, I’m glad you feel this way about this blog, as it is always my priority to focus more on football and sharing opinions and news than on insulting each other.

On a personal note, I hope you are okay and everything is going well, you have been boycotting the blog obviously.

And thank you Bahaa for clearing it up, it’s funny how you all think I’m not being offensive but Nazim insists that it’s offensive.

Kazi and Uthman.. You guys are welcomed here. Respect.

Now… Nazim unfortunately has been more of a negative influence over the course of these past few months than a positive one. I’ve been taking the high road for some time but here goes:

1- Posting under different names… perhaps to hide identity?
2- Takes offense easily and then personalizes the debates.
3- Lashes out against fellow Algerians who are not in agreement with his protocol
4- Surfs the web for trashy news and presents it here for a reaction hoping to ignite a conflict.

Frankly… If I was Hany (who is free to do whatever he wants)… I would simply delete all his comments… good or bad.

If you all would notice… the discussions have been pleasant and satisfying with out his posts.

Kazi and Uthman and any other respectful Algerians and or Egyptians are welcomed here. Hopefully we see more of you and less of the poisoned, bitter, vulnerable people.

second Nazim… why the hell do you post here if you are constantly offended? If you don’t like how pleasant things are here, go ahead… join the million or so knuckle heads that flame on another on any number of given youtube videos.

I subscribe to you, you will get allot more sastisfaction out of that than you do here.

Apparently civilized connections between Algerians and Egyptians at a time where most have lost their heads is not good enough for you.

Do yourself a favor… go to elChorouk, start a blog, name it “I hate Egypt and any Algerian who deals with Egyptian.. who is in?” and knock yourself out.

You’ll be much happier there and you will be in good company. Get it?

Hisham,

Last time i checked. i did not direct my comments toward you, so chill out, and i am no longer posting in this blog, so please watch your language, and to put things in prospective, i do not hide behind different ID’s, and as most of you know, i have never had a problem speaking my mind.
No, I do not get offended and if i do, ill try to convey my views to the offending party, but you can not enter in a debate when your posts are deleted, as for you asking Hany to delete my comments…… whatever float your boat, just please watch your language.

I was just reacting to JSK’s comments, i have no problem with Kazi and Uthman posting here.

As Hany have noticed, i no longer wish to contribute to this blog, and i will only post if i am insulted or provoked.

Bahaa,

Hope you are doing well :)

Hisham I have to respectfuly disagree I don’t think Nazim hates Egypt or Egyptians. I personaly met Nazim and his brother and honestly they were two of the most impressive young men I have met from any nationality. Now when it comes to football he’s a hot head and talks trash perhaps even a bit unreasonable. But hey who umongst us hasn’t been unreasonable when it came to our favorite teams. I just Dont want you to mix nazim the football fan with nazim the man. I met nazim the man and he was a very respectful educated generous young man. Who believe it or not really likes Egypt and Egyptians.

Hany,

I know.. the ESPN commentator was making the same case Kazi and Tamim were making about how he did what any professional would do.

SIGH.. still think the rules need to be changed so defenders never have an incentive to block a ball headed to the net with their hands

Best player in tournement? I think Deago Forlan

We’ll know by tomorrow, I’d give it to either Villa or Forlan. I think Sneijder wasn’t as good as those, he was pretty lucky with 3 of his goals.

for me personaly the best player of the tournament must play for one of the final 4 teams.

Germany: Müller, Schweinsteiger, Friedrich, Klose.
Uruguay: Forlan, Suarez.
Holland: Sneijder, van bommel, matheisen, robben.
Spain: Iniesta, Cassillas, Villa, Sergio Ramos, Puyol.

if Uruguay have made 3rd place, i would pick Forlan, but they didnt, so i guess im picking a spanic one….i would say David Villa.

well here my World cup top 11:

cassillas.
Sergio Ramos-Friedrich-Puyol-Van Bronckhorst
Müller-schweinsteiger-iniesta-Sneijder
Forlan-Villa

Özil….i dont think he deserved the best player award.
he is very talented and has the potential to become the next superstar. but his background is his biggest problem.
the fact he is turkish made alot of people here getting crazy. alot are putting real big pressure on him. they say he is the role model for all arabic and turkish youth here in germany, he is the one who will bring all people together, just like a messias.
the medias here in germany are full of his name, he is everywhere. they forgott about schweinsteiger, müller and co. they are just talking özil.
im afraid the german are destroying theire biggest talent in putting to much pressure on him, the guy is just 21 yrs old.
