Egypt – Algeria: round 2, Ismaily trashes USM Alger

December 30th, 2008 | By: Tamim | 9 Comments »

A score of 7-2 between Ismaily and USM Alger on aggregate made up for Al Masry’s loss in Algeria and showed how much Egyptian teams are by far superior at the moment.

In their own field and in front of their fans, Ismaily entertained the Algerian capital side 4-1 with oals from Omar Gamal, Abdallah El Saeed and Iraqi striker Mostafa Kareem to secure their qualification ticket to the quarter final of the Arab champions league.

Unfortunately, the Algerian fans were very aggressive and hit the field with whatever they could and even injured the assistant referee creating a very hostile atmosphere but Ismaily players had the nerves to deal with it.

Here are the goals

Well expect something like this from the national team in June if not harder (with all due respect)

Follow up on Hossam and Ibrahim Hassan incident

- Al Masry club sacked the twins from the team management because of bad results and because of what they did; however the players refused to play until they return!!!

- Hossam Hassan said that they were playing in a “terrorist atmosphere” and the fans were throwing everything on them, even one of the players had a slight burn in his leg from on of the thrown flare and that the Algerian club administration didn’t receive them well and that they were kept captured after the game in the hotel for two days

- He also accused the EFA of being corrupt because they were very biased after their decision to suspend him and his brother

- Samir Zaher, head of the EFA is visiting Algeria to meet officials there and to apologize for what happened

Now I think that we apologized enough with all means possible and that there is no reason for our Algerian brothers to stay angry and continue to give us this bad treatment there; you know we can also give a warm welcome

Now time to choose the best of 2008:

From what I hear from our Algerian neighbors,Setif and not USMA is currently the team to beat. Setif made it to the ACL quarter finals. It would be interesting if Ismaily and Stif play against each other next! Remember Tamim not to start celebrating just yet. Esperance and Sfaxien are still in it, and that’s where the true challenge lies for Ismaily!!! As for the evil twin brothers, nothing justifies what they did. They’re both scum bags. Remember that discusting gesture one of them made with his hand? They should be both history.

Best player: Amr Zaki
Best professional: Amr Zaki
Best striker: Amr Zaki
Best defender: Hany Said
Best midfielder: Mohamed Barakat
Best goal keeper: El Hadary
Best club: I am an Ahly fan, but I am impressed with El Ismaily at the moment
Best fans: Ismaily again, a problem in Egypt is that other than Ismaily, Ahly, Zamalek, Masry, Tersana, and Ittihad, all the other clubs have no fans, which makes our league much more inferior than those in Europe. If everyone would cheer the club that was closest to their residence, then the league would be more exciting, no matter what division the club is in. In that case i would be an Ittihad fan haha
Best coach: Not Jose
Best rising star: Shikabala and Gamal Hamza
Best achievement: ACN 2008, Mohamed Zidan’s goal vs real Madrid while at Hamburg… If you haven’t seen it, then now is the time.
Biggest disappointment: Hossam Ghali and Shawky’s lack of playing time, the fact that Abou Trika wasted his whole career in Ahly, Zamalek signing Agogo (the biggest flop), the fact that Gamal Hamza and Barakat have not been on Shehata’s squad in a while, and finally Zidan’s move to the Bundesliga (I was hoping for a premiership move).
