Egypt beats Italy, qualifies to knockout stage

October 2nd, 2009 | By: Tamim | 6 Comments »

I guess beating Italy is becoming a habit more than a good result!!!

Good luck for our boys in what to come.

Meanwhile, our senior team played a very lame friendly against a very humble Mauritius side who forgot to bring their clothes with them and had to borrow Jerseys from ENPPI; we won 4-0 but the result isn’t important, neither is the performance because half of the players didn’t even touch the ball.

yes Tamim it has become a habit for our team to beat teams of high quality and then crash against lower ranked teams. It keeps happening and it will never stop we win Italy loose against costa rica. Win Italy almost draw with Brazil and loose to a crappy U.S side.Even in the world cup qualifiers. When will we learn that there is NO such thing as an easy side in football. Man im freakin sick of this shit. How will the world ever take Egyptian football seriously?

don’t worry they are taking it seriously, spain and paraguay were humiliated, does it mean they are bad, no just a day off……i guess we need to learn how to be good losers!!!

the fact we are competing on this level was unattainable 5 years ago, so we should be reasonable and not exaggerate….whoever prommised that we would win this cup anyway, this is the world cup people not the local league!!

for the u-20 it’s over now, we need to concentrate with the senior national team on their difficult task in zambia.

It seems Egypt does not do well against CONCACAF teams! The NTs lost to USA and Costa Rica, and Ahly lost handily to Pachuca of Mexico. Just an observation. Good luck in Zambia this weekend; that’s the one that really counts.

CONGRATULATIONS to the UAE i hope they make it to the finals ISA.ALL of Egypt is behind you. Actually Rachid i read on Fifa that the U20 team actually does well against CONCACAF teams they won every team they played drew once against Jamaica and lost only once 1-0 to US. AND i guess your right Tamim I may have overreacted but only cause they were doing so well besides i bet no one would even remember this tournament come next month it really is only a showing of young talent and for clubs to snatch the players while they are still young. But what hurt the most was that we were the host nation and when will we get the chance to host another world cup again?

in all the history of this tournament, the hosts only won twice….beside, i guess we were giving this tournament more than it deserves, i mean there were 80 thousand fans in the stadiums while the highest recorded number in previous tournaments was 20 thousand…..our media needs to learn how to put things in perspective and not exaggerate,; if you checked the local papers of participating countries you mayn’t even find anything mentioned about it except for a 200 word article or something!!!!

in other words, we need to focus on zambia now, because as rachid said, this is what matters the most.
