Egyptian league back to action!!
after enjoying the national team’s victory in Ghana 2008 Egyptian fans will be heading for Egyptian stadiums to support their local teams. tomorrow all Egyptian clubs will compete in the Egyptian league again after a 55 days break due to the African cup of nations. every one will be following the league with a new perspective now so who is going to play with who?.
after egypt’s extraordianry performance in Ghana 2008 with 90% local players, the Egyptian league showed what it can offer. egypt has one of the most powerful (if not the most) powerful leagues in Africa and middle east. it has very famous clubs like ahly-zamalek-ismaily. as Claude Leroy said, egypt has the best league in africa that’s why they are powerful. also Henri Michel hailed the domestic competition in egypt as he worked there for 1 year with zamalek.
so tomorrow will be the kick off of the second round of the league. we are going to have very powerful fixtures and very interesting matches. but before talking about the fixtures let’s take a look at the standings.

matches to watch:
ismaily-zamalek
very interesting match between 2 of the 3 main powers in Egyptian football. the match will be played in ismailya stadium with a lot of fans expected to go. zamalek just came from Rwanda after beating Rwanda’s army 2-1 in the champions league. both teams has a lot of talented players many of them are members of the national team. BTW, there will be a celebration before the match for players from both teams who were members in the Egyptian champion team.
ahly-masry
that’s a very intense match between giant ahly and portsaid’s team. it is considered one of the biggest rivalries in egypt. el masry enjoys very huge fan support but lacks a powerful team to achieve their dreams. ahly has everything needed, however the match’s result is unpredictable. in the first round the match ended in a draw 2-2.
ittihad-harras el hdood
it’s Alexandria’s derby. all fans in Alexandria will head to Alexandria’s stadium to watch their team el-ittihad after renovations while the military team will seek to confirm its upper heal and his superiority in Alexandria.
