News in brief

Let’s start with world cup qualifications related news.

- We are most probably playing a friendly against Tanzania this month but the date wasn’t set yet.

- News reports said that Mohamed Barakat will be picked up for the next preparation camp.

- Aswan was selected to host one of the group matches; most probably it will be Rwanda’s match.

- Speaking of Rwanda’s match, the match was moved to 4 – 5 July instead of June 20 – 21 because of Egypt’s participation in confederations cup.

- Algeria’s coach Rabeh Saadan spoke about his team chances in beating Egypt to the world cup and the guy was very realistic and said that Egypt is very powerful and hat their victories aren’t out of luck but because of hard work; he also said that it is crazy to think of aleria qualifying to the world cup…..decoy tactic?!!!

- Also Zambian coach talked about the group and said that he respects the Egyptian team but they have the ambition to make it to south Africa; Zambia will hold a preparation camp in spain and are trying to play against either morocco or Tunisia…..mmm!!

- New Spurs manager Harry Redknapp decided to give Hossam Ghaly a new chance by promoting him from the reserves team to the first team,; this is the first time Hossam Ghaly was promoted to the first team since ex coach Junady Ramos took charge and Ghaly will have a jersey number for the first time this season…..waiting for you in the NT.

- Hosni Abd Raboh, best player in Ghana 2008 was booed and jeered by Ahli Dubai fans where he currently plays now. really…what were they thinking????

- Both Hosni and Ahmed El Mohammady are being targeted by Blackburn rovers; looks like Amr Zaki is making a reputation for Egyptian players.

- Amr Zaki didn’t score for the second consecutive week!!

- El Hadary got out injured from his side’s – Sion – match against Basel FC; recover soon isa

- An inspection committee from FIFA is visiting Egypt now to inspect the stadiums and facilities that will host the youth world cup this summer; up till now they got a good impression

- the Egyptian football association elections are calm this year with four candidates only in presidency, most probably Samir Zaher will win and continue (more elaborate post on this issue later)

that’s all for now

Hello Tamim, thank you for the news.
There’s a rumor that Egypt will play against Germany next year… Do you know if it’s true?
I don’t understand why they booed at Hosny Abd Raboh, I think he’s a good player…:)

Best wishes from Germany
