Squad announced for Ghana’s friendly
The squad that will play against Ghana next Wednesday was announced shortly after Al Ahly’s victory over club Sfaxien of Tunisia to win their fourth African super cup.
For the first time in two years Hassan Shehata chose Mohamed Barakat, following a dispute in which both exchanged hot statements in the media and Shehata pledged that Barakat won’t play for the national team as long as he is the manager!!!
The squad also will witness the return of Mohamed Zidan since Argentina’s match following a dispute between him and the technical staff after Zidan played sick before Congo’s match and wanted to quit for a while.
Taking in consideration zidan’s form lately, he will be a great addition to our attack with Mido and Amr Zaki; especially that we need everyone who can help in the world cup qualifications.
However, Mohamed Abu Trika will not feature in the game because of injury that kept him away for several months; also Shikabala won’t be with the team most probably because of his brawl with the Zamalek fans after one of the league matches.
The squad
Abdul-Wahed Al-Sayed, Mahmoud Fathallah, Hani Saied (Zamalek), Ahmed Al-Muhammadi, Abdul-Aziz Tawfeek, Ahmed Raouf (ENPPI), Ahmed Samir Farag, Ahmed Khairi (Ismaili), Ahmed Eid, Ahmed Abdul-Ghani (Harras Hodoud), Moahmed Barakat, Ahmed Al-Sayed, Wael Gomaa, Ahmed Fathi, Ahmed Hassan (Ahli), Essam Al-Hadari (Sion), Hosni Abd-Rabou (Ahli Dubai), Emad Meteb (Ittihad Jeddah), Mohamed Shawky (Middlesbrough), Mido, Amr Zaki (Wigan Athletic), Mohamed Zidan (Borussia Dortmund).
Comment:
We will play with our full force in the last preview match before serious business kicks off on the 29th of March against Zambia; I guess we will see how far we reached on the technical and physical level and start fixing what needs to be fixed.
In other news:
- there was a lot of controversy around Egypt’s bid to host 2018 world cup; reports said that Egypt made its bid to the FIFA although the football association officials denied that saying that it takes a governmental approval to host such events not only the association approval and that a continent can’t host more than one world cup in 8 years!!.
thanks for your comment amir;
first, we can’t lose from ghana isa 5-0 in cairo, we may lose but 2-0 3-0 at most!!
second, shehata has made a powerful base for him, he can’t be kicked out because of a match or a bad performance anymore!!!
Best of luck to your boys. We dominated them in Accra without scoring. Hopefully you guys can break through!

Nice combination i see there.
I’m only afraid of what would happen if we loose 5-0 against Ghana and they would kick shehata out….
