despite the many question marks on the line-up, performance and many many things, despite the agony of the defeat and the frustration and disappointment we are going through, we must remember that this team gave us sweat memories during the tournament that we shouldn’t forget……Thank you

ABDELGHANY!? ABDELGHANY!? surely, surely there are better strikers out there for us! I have never seen a worse Egyptian player for quite a while… he couldnt even control the ball properly, the simplest of touches! I really hope Shehata loses his job. this is a disgrace, we lose Zidan to injury, and we cant even replace him with a half decent striker that can actually play with the ball at his feet, let alone score. I maintain that Abotreka, Ahmad Hassan and Abdrabou are good players, however, the reality is, we need to find a better/stronger defence, more attacking players… with a huge nation like ours, and the amount of talent, i have seen alot of talent, just playing for the U20s sides, i have seen plenty of it in Egypt. We have the potential of becoming world class… all we need is a decent manager – who can pick out the right players… i hope everyone stands by me when i say sack Shehata…

You know what this game needed the selfishness of Amr Zaki cause he would have totally finished off the game. And why the hell weren’t the players running were they like threatened to not win or something? Man what a weird conscedence Brazil wins Italy by three goals and America wins by three goals exactly. I dunno for me it looks suspicious.

What the hell happened today no one can explain it.But i think that Hassan Shehata after the Algeria win felt like we wouldnt be able to reach the World Cup and didnt want to get ppls hopes up.Of course hes a great coach, but why else would he start with Farag, AbdelGhany and Eid. Eid is a very good player but hes better as a sub. We went into the game with like no tactics.

The only man on the pitch today was ELHADARY man that guys a warrior playing with a bleeding head. All these great games played by Egypt mean nothing now after that humiliating defeat to the US. whats even mre frustrating is that the Americans dont even like soccer so what the hell do they care if they advance or not

But thank you Egyptian team for such a nice display well i mean even Italy got out so that makes it seem less bad.Whats funny is that were the reason that Italy got out.LOL

Thank you Egypt indeed for putting on a wonderful show and making group B a really exciting group to watch.

I especially liked your performance against Brazil. Now if you only hadn’t given that corner away (which was unnecessary) it might have ended 3-3 or possibly even better and you would have gone on to the semis.

See how these single actions can drasticly impact the outcome of a tournament?

Funny how in the end the outcome of the group was really no surprise at all, Brazil 1st and USA 2nd, just as I suspected. :)

With Italy being the flop of the tournament of course. Almost as if it was a screenplay. Toni at the head since he’s supposed to be scoring and he never does anymore.

You think we should thank them!? They played like a bunch of amateurs today, it was embarassing to Egyptians everywhere…they only got lucky against Italy. Egyptians deserve a soccer team who actually can read the field, who actually know strategy, who actually know how to properly lob the ball, who actually know how to run, who actually know how to play tight defense, who actually know not to run into their own goalie, who actually play like they care, which these guys don’t! Get rid of Shehata, and let’s get Mido AND Zidan on the national team.

the Chauvinistic approach and lake of objectivity and excess fanatism of Egyptians is often behind their counter performances. after loosing 4:3 to Brazil who played in economy mode and beating Poor Italy 1:0 (who lost 3:0 to brazil) Egypt start thinking of semi Final against Spain !!!? and totally neglected USA as if the match was already in pocket ! the result of this make believe is a severe loss 3:0 (same thing happened against Algeria) the result was a severe 3:1)
it s about time for Egyptians to understand that they have to respect their oponent and not to sell the bear’s fur before killing it…….Egypy has paid dearly their lake of maturity and is now disqualified from World Cup in South Africa . Algeria is simply a better team.

Unlucky Tamim lol!

To be fair to Egypt, the players were really tired and a few players picked up injuries.

I was however, surprised to see Egypt lose 3-0. After conceding the first 2 goals, I was expecting Egypt to improve their defence. Even at 2-0 down, you would still make it to the semis.

But anyway, better luck next time, and the team should just focus on qualifying for the World Cup.

No worries, it seems that all arab teams since 1994 ar enot able to exceed to th enext round of a major event. I think the proplem is the following:

Consistency in performance
Confidence in beating all possible teams
Non professional and realistic
Emotional amateuristic Journalism
Lack of excellent strikers who can kill a game

I think Egypt is still the best Arab team and they just missed that last sparkle. I think if Amr Zaki Mido and Zidan Played We could have seen Egypt in the Final.

For now I would like to ask all the Hypocrites who would like tot see shahata leave to be silent. He is for me the best coach in the Arab world he won two CAf titles and is in the race for qualification to the world cup. Which European Coach has ever achieved that.

Arabs need to believe more in their own capabilities and less in the European supremecy this is so outdated!!

El mouhim hope the best Arab team represents us.

Inshallah Maroc Tunis Algeriaor Egypt make it.

As a sahli fan I hope we win the CAF champions leugue and keep the arab record of Al Ahly in Place!!

regards,

I dont think we should be thanking them at all to be honest. This just keeps them from progressing. The media needs to be critical and harsh- about the performance and the rumors about the night before the match.

In the long run I think whats needed is to send as many players as possible to Europe to play. They can learn to become professionals like Zidan has done- or they can continue in their ways like Zaki and be dropped forever.

Yes, the arrogance of Americans never fails: “plain and simple…USA is a better team” — the US were crap against Italy and Brazil while Egypt beat Italy and came very close to drawing against Brazil. What the hell did the US do? Beat a tired Egypt who were without their best player.

The US is an utterly mediocre, godawful team. I’m Brazilian, live in the US, studied in Egypt in the 80s and have many friends there. I love Egyptian football and was very glad to see Egypt give Brazil a good game. For long periods in that game they were the better team and Brazil did not deserve to win it. Were it not for that penalty, Egypt would be in the semifinals. I really thought Egypt would beat a thoroughly poor US team.

Thanks to Egypt for making this tournament entertaining and surprising — please just go on and qualify for the world cup! The US, meanwhile, are just horrible to watch and have absolutely no talent on the ball.

The US is better than Egypt, if u don’t think so then take 3-0 and eat it. Please, im tired of hearing the excuse that egypt was tired and full of injuries. The USA was tired too, they played the same games the same days. Injuries…let’s not talk about injuries.

USA was missing their starting forward and two defenders in the back. But we didn’t say anything the whole tournament. Why? Because we don’t make excuses.

USA played better against Italy than Egypt did. Egypt is a lucky team, always has been and always will be, you’ll never be anything more. And that’s exactly the reason you’re going home, and that’s exactly the reason you aren’t going to the world cup once again, and that’s exactly the reason you are left with nothing but your excuses.

USA 3-0 Egypt.

These tournaments are all about injuries and suspensions and having to cope with them. I’ve even known players who still played with an injury that wasn’t yet fully healed.

How do you think ever to win the worldcup? That’s a lot more games than just 3 in a row.

Jessie, you’re totally delusional. Yeah, Egypt were “lucky” against Italy — I’ve never seen the US get “lucky” against the world champions. “Luck” is a word delusional people use to ridicule a better team’s success. They also got “lucky” against Brazil too. They seemed to get “lucky” a lot. I’ve never seen the US get “lucky” against the two teams who’ve won the most world cups. Don’t you love these Americans — they win ONE game in a little tournament (beating a supposedly “crap” team they’re SO much better than) and they’re now world beaters. Jessie, the ONLY reason the US is in the semifinals is because of ONE goal — that’s it! If Brazil hadn’t gotten that penalty, if Italy had scored one goal against Brazil, if Egypt had scored one goal against the US, you would’ve been out of the tournament. ONE GOAL–that’s the difference! Wow, how impressive!

I guess you’re also better than Italy because they’re not going thru to the semifinals, right?

And Jessie, Egypt face far FAR stronger competition in Africa than the US does in CONCACAF. The CONCACAF region is a joke. The reason the US always makes it to the world cup is because you have ZERO competition: Guatemala, Canada, El Salvador? Yeah, wow, amazing competition there! Meanwhile Egypt have to face teams like Ivory Coast, Ghana, Nigeria, Cameroon, teams that routinely give the big teams a very difficult time in the world cup. There are African players all over the big clubs in Europe, where are the superior Americans?

Your team is CRAP, there is NO American player with talent on the ball like Zidan and Aboutrika — NONE! American players are unbelievably awful on the ball. It’ll be fun watching them get run over by the Spanish.

Also, the difference between Americans like Jessie and Mark on the one hand and the Egyptian fans is their delusional arrogance. The Egyptian fans are giving generous, gracious credit to the US — I don’t see US fans doing that here at all.

USA didn’t need to get “lucky” against brazil or italy, because they got “lucky” against egypt. And yea, one goal. But you know what, Egypt knew about that goal when they were down 2-0 with 20 minutes left. This didn’t come by surprise. If Egypt had any talent, they wouldn’t have given up the third goal.

And this isn’t about CONCACAF, it’s about the USA. Yea, CONCACAF sucks and there is no competition, where Africa is competitive. But guess what, USA isn’t CONCACAF, they just play there. They would qualify out of Africa. They beat the so called “African Champions”
(Even though Ivory Coast, Ghana, Nigeria are miles ahead).

You can make all the excuses in the world and whine and complain all you want, but I don’t care, because my team beat your team 3-0. And it’s sad, that the USA has no talent on the ball. We still smashed your pathetic little team to pieces. If you can’t beat a team with no talent, then why waste your time even rooting for Egypt.

Good luck in the world cup next year….oh wait, nevermind.
