This is Egypt!!
if you watched 300 movie you would probably remember the scene when the Persian messenger came to Sparta ordering them to surrender, the spartan king kicked him in this hole and shouted this is Sparta . the same egypt did and shouted at African teams and all people who thought that egypt isn’t good enough ” this is egypt”
before the game , no one in egypt or outside would have dreamed of this result. scoring 4 goals at cameroon was a historical result and an achievement in itself. but the pharaohs were up to the challenge and made it nice and clean.
first half
wearing the new kits, Egyptian players entered the field full of confidence a thing which i didn’t see since 1990 in the world cup!!!. the Egyptians started to pass the ball easily and attacked (unexpected) putting pressure on Cameroon.zidan wasted a dangerous chance in front of goal but he made song fall in the ground like an amateur!!.soon after the ref whistled for a penalty for egypt, hosni abd raboh shot it first time but no , not yet the ref ordered to re shoot , this time and it was hard and in the net. egypt scored, but still Cameroon can equalize. after 3 minutes only mohamed zidan started an attack from the midfield and with a one two with emad meteb he was in front of cameni and you know the rest. zidan’s celebration for the goal was very funny, i haven’t seen any Egyptian player celebrate like that before. now, it was time for the defense, Cameroon started to pressure but the defense was up to the task and was able to spoil each and every attack. and before the end, el hadary take a free kick to the penalty are of Cameroon to find mohamed zidan who - as usual- dribble and bom ……..at the back of the net.
second half
as expected , with the score 3-0 Cameroon must respond. the second half started with high pressure from Cameroon and the Egyptian team began to feel the game is easy only to find samuel eto’s header in the goal. after the goal they restore confidence and concentration.the defense and el hadary were once again the heroes, again Cameroon seemed to be helpless a thing which you could see at the eye’s of eto. and from a counter attack, hosni abd raboh fire a sam-6 to demolish Cameroon hopes of anything.at the end , the referee emphasized with Cameroon and wanted to help, so he gave them a penalty in the time that mahmoud fathalla was the one hit!!!. eto scored and after 5 minute the ref whistles for the end of the match.
key matchups results:
eto vs defense: defense wins no doubt although eto scored
hadary vs cameroon: 95% success for hadary, he should have saved this penalty
zidan vs himself: 2 goals , enough said
said moawad vs geremi: 80% success for said although he could have done better
shehata vs the formation: as i said he played with a sweeper in a 3-5-2 formation
the most important thing in the match was the players’ love to each other and great understanding between them and the team work. but still we haven’t won anything yet and we have to keep focused for sudan and zambia.
last thing, good luck for Tunisia tomorrow. i hope they finish first so that we won’t play against you now. either us or morocco in the final isa
wait for match pictures and what the paper said about the match tomorrow.

Who would’ve ever expected egypt to come with a win like that,it would’ve been fine with me if we had a draw. Anyway good game for egypt and hard luck cameroon.
Every prediction i read said that Cameroon will beat Egypt and Eto’o will score, but i guess they were wrong Eto’o might’ve scored. BUT MY COUNTRY WON.

Very deserved win for Egypt. Impressive football translated by the 4-2 win. Penalty kick was a gift from the referee to Cameroon. Bottom line very convincing victory. Good luck in the next games…I hope Tunisia do the same. Good luck to all.

The important thing now is to keeps the heads down and push on through. Be aware of early peak syndrome. I hope zidan moves to an english club for more world exposure.
Congrats

Speawy Neniwa is right, you shouldn’t underrate Cameroon. Some players played very, very well, and maybe they did not everything, but they are also a very good team ![]()
I didn’t expect that egypt will play so good, but it was an awesome game. But the Arbitrator was a bit . ..strange.
But after all, I’m glad, egypt won ![]()
