Trying to figure it out?
First, I have to apologize for the lack of posting lately but I have two reasons for this. First, I am stuck in the middle of mid-term exams -the latest one was today and had a question about blogs-; second, nothing is happening with the national team lately and the squad that will face Benin is anonymous till now.
Last week, Shehata announced the names of professionals outside Europe who will be chosen and said that the rest will be chosen after the end of the 12th week in the league, last Saturday, and Ahly players will be chosen on 17 November after their final against cotton sport.
Till now, not a single name was announced 4 days after the end of the 12th week and most probably they won’t till Ahly’s match.
All teams who are playing friendlies announced their squads except us; is it too confidential? Is the match so important that we are afraid that the opponent knows the names? Is it so difficult to choose? Or maybe they forgot?
Anyway, the list can be very predictable and the possibilities of new faces aren’t high and you can take a look at the last squad because it won’t be very different.
Up till now, we know that Amr Zaki, Mido, Hosni Abd Raboh, Emad Meteb and Essam El Hadary may feature against the squirrels of Benin.
One big name is missing.

Why? Shehata said in many interviews that he has opened a new page with him and Barakat but that doesn’t mean that they will be selected right ahead and that they maybe chosen later; he also said that they have to prove that they are worth a place in the national team.
With all respect to Shehata’s point of view, I think that it is important that Zidan and Barakat should participate in these friendlies if they are to be in his consideration to get used with the team’s style of play again because the last time Zidan played with the national team was against Argentina while Barakat was even before Ghana 2008.
Although both are very valuable players but we need Zidan more because think of an attacking trio made of him, Mido, Zaki and the psychological effect on the opponent. On the other we have done well without Barakat, just wait till Ahmed Fathi returns from injury which is very soon.
Let’s hope that both player return soon because we need them.
Emad Meteb to Everton?
Despite the rumors that linked him with a move to Everton this January, Egyptian players reported that Everton manager Davis Moyes decided to hit out at rumors that linked him with 25 year old international Emad Meteb and he said that this news is merely a rumor.

so who do you think should be chosen? and what do you think about Zidan’s exclusion? and where will Meteb go? and if anything new happens i will update the post.

I agree that Zidan and Barakat need to be added early so they can start to work their ay back into the team… However I do like that Shehata is serious about getting prepared and qualifying… Zidan, Zaki, Mido up front will scare any team…
