Egypt

Yes we can!!

I will keep it to abstract mathematics to prove that we still have a strong chance of qualifying.

Given:

1- Algeria: 10 +5
2- Egypt: 7 +2
3- Zambia: 4 -2
4- Rwanda: 1 -5

Zambia – Egypt 10/10/2009
Algeria – Rwanda 11/10/2009

Egypt – Algeria 14/11/2009
Rwanda – Zambia 14/11/2009

-Egypt and Algeria competing for world cup
-Rwanda and Zambia competing for African cup

-Egypt beats Zambia 1-0 or 2-0
-in case of equal points, goal difference is taken into consideration, if equal the team with more goals qualifies

R.T.P (required to proof):

Egypt in the world cup

Proof:

Scenario 1

Egypt beats Zambia 1-0 and Algeria beat Rwanda 4-0; Egypt 10 points +3, Algeria 13 points +9
Egypt beats Algeria 3-0; Egypt 13 points +6, Algeria 13 points +6
Head to head: Algeria – Egypt 3-1, Egypt – Algeria 3-0
Egypt qualifies by Abu Terika’s away goal in Algeria

Scenario 2

Egypt beats Zambia 1-0 and Algeria beats Rwanda 1-0; Egypt 10 points +3, Algeria 13 points +6
Egypt beats Algeria 2-0; Egypt 13 points +5. Algeria 1 points +4
Egypt qualifies with goal difference

Scenario 3

Egypt beats Zambia 2-0 and Algeria beats Rwanda 2-1, Egypt 10 points +4, Algeria 13 points +6
Egypt beats Algeria 1-0, Egypt 13 points +5, Algeria 13 points +5
Egypt scored more goals (9) than Algeria (8)
Egypt qualifies

Scenario 4

Egypt beats Zambia 2-0; Algeria beats Rwanda 3-0
Egypt 10 points +4, Algeria 13 points +8
Egypt beats Algeria 2-0; Egypt 13 points +6, Algeria 13 points +6
Egypt score more goals (10) than Algeria (9)
Egypt qualifies

Notes:

-these are the worst case scenarios; better scenarios can be beating Zambia with a score and Algeria stumbling against Rwanda which is very possible as Rwanda will be waiting for Zambia’s loss to grab a point from Algeria and then beat Zambia at home and qualify for the African cup

-or even Rwanda may score goals and reduce the goal difference and make our mission easier.

-All these scenarios are built on us returning with the 3 points from Zambia and then things will be in our hands.

-Beating Algeria with a score isn’t that difficult or unprecedented event, 5-2 world cup 2002 qualifications; also we previously beat Cameroon 4-2 and Cote d’Ivoire 4-1 so it won’t be our first time to grab a score.

-playing the next matches at the same time will be more fair for all teams; because, with the current schedule, Algeria would have known how much we scored and will have known how much they need to score, that’s what our football federation is preparing to ask FIFA for.

Meanwhile, we have a world cup in hand and our boys need support.

The game against Zambia is crucial. But lets not forget that the Egyptian u-20 team is going to be playing in the World Cup in EGYPT starting 24. Should be interesting to watch them play against Italy.

When Adriana Lima said that the only way she might consider dating me is if I were the last man on the planet, I did not know that mathematically I stood a chance. But now that Tamim elucidated the concept for me, I realize that I need to get da hell outta my basement and go buy a tux and a couple of wedding rings.

Thanks, T-man

i dont mean to be pessemistic…but what makes you think you can beat zambia 2-0 in zambia when you couldnt even beat them in cario. algeria already has +3 gd on egypt…so. lets say that egypt does manage to beat zambia in zambia by 2-0(which is highly unlikely) and algeria beats rwanda at home by 2-0 ( a conservative scoreline) you will still need to beat algeria at home by three goals which is not going to happen. you beat rwanda…the weakest team in the group in cairo by three goals…i doubt you’ll be able to do the same to the leader of the group and a team that beat you 3-1. thats just my opinion as a neutral, as a tunisian i would love to see either one of egypt or algeria qualify, but i just think that the ticket is algeria’s to lose.

wrong, in such scenario, egypt will only need to beat algeria 2-0 and qualify by head to head score since we scored an away goal!!

i say it all depends on zambia’s game, if we win by any score, we have a big chance of qualifying but only if we beat zambia.

Good analysis, Thamer. Very humorous sarcasm, Nadeem. It’s well understood, Tamim, it all depends on the Zambia game. Anything short of a win means it’s all over, that is but the crying. Good luck!

Alex, when you had your revolution, Egypt sent you all support possible.
Egypt always supported and will continue to support Palestine. What did you give to Palestine? NOTHING… Even Warda didn;t sing for them…
You keep bringing politics into here, you will loose.

@Amir
A song from Warda…that is exactly what is going to bring our Palestinian brothers out of their crisis!

@Tamim
Typically Egyptian, jealous of Maghrebis linguistic talents. You guys can’t even pronounce ‘Algeria’ correctly, always saying Algazair instead of Al-Jazair (or Dzair) like it should be pronounced. So who is the one with the linguistic difficulties?
By the way the video you posted of Algeria vs Zambia, do you even know what language the commentator is speaking?

LOL Alex, you guys think you speak French when native French people get disgusted from your weak pronounciation and terrible accent. Not talking about your vulgar attitudes…
I speak, read & write perfectly five languages and many fellow Egyptians speak even more than that. We are famous allover the world about how fast and accurate we can learn foreign languages.
Get your facts right before commenting, otherwise I will tell you some Marseilles jokes… lol

Mr. Einstein,
I would like to tell you that Algeria is coming to beat you in Cairo, and dont be like christians that pretend that “god is one persone and equal to three persons”, but well what to do “Egyptians”
1,2,3 viva l’algerie ( Algerians are the real lions )
at least the matrix will be reloaded for you like in 2004 on the 14 november 2009.

i am algerian but like egypte,i just want to say, that egypte play more
tacticly ,and algerian are more technique and can do better on world cup, while egypte does better in african games.

if you beat zambie 2-0 you are going for south africa ,but zambie are a good team,we were lucky agains them we saved at least 3 to 4 goals.

i thing 0-0 is the only score you can get, they need to go to african games.algerian or egyptian for me we are all under the same regime
in footbaall even my brother become enemy just for the game
thank you for the support for the war.if you beat zambia i will support you
but first wait………
zambian are also human been ……………
even rwanda

I just want to say that after all its only a game, and who will be going to South Africa ‘Algeria’ or ‘Egypt’ will depend on last two games with an advantage to ALGERIA (3 POINT AHEAD OF Egypt)so what count is only the result in the park and our egyptians brothers should recognise that ALGERIA has always been a team of big challenge(SPAIN 82,MEXICO 86) so if they dont make it they can relaxe, Algeria will make them proud in the world cup so at least be fair play and before i forget : 1 2 3 viva algerie

Algerians are yellow people, with little love in their hearts. They are just like spolit children that never say thank you or have a good spirit. Instead they want everything to themselves or else they just nag, curse and get violent. Ofcourse there is some sane algerians but they are hard to find!

FYI, I’mnt egyptian. I just have seen alot of Algerians in my life time, and what I said is from my personal experience. Also Moroccans are the same. Tunisians are much better people than Algerians and Moroccans. And seriously I’m going to support egypt and tunis from africa because I want them to play in the world cup.

It is only a football match. I don’t know why you Egyptians make a big fuss out of it. Algeria played better football in group C. they were unlucky not to go through in the last game because of a bad referee. Egypt were lucky against Zambia and Rwanda. Algeria deserves to go to the world cup. Merci!!!!
