zamalek and haras squeeze through.
zamalek beat africa sport from cote d’ivoire 5-4 after penalty kicks to secure its place in the round of 16. at the same time haras el hdoud beat molodia from algeria 1-0 to reach the same round.
in the champions league, zamalek passed through africa sport and “the refree” by penalty kicks. the match ended 2-0 for africa sport, both goals came from 2 penalties only in the ref mind as the ball touched the defenders hand 100% unintentionally in both cases. zamalek previously won 2-0 in cairo in a match that could have ended 5-0. as usual the pitch was very very bad and the weather was terrible, zamalek missed a lot of key players like amr zaki, gamal hamza and hazem emam because of injury. so it was a very difficult match but the team managed to win eventually. bottom line is egyptian football continues to dominate its ivoirian counter part both on club and natonal teams level!!!
ahly already qualified to round of 16 after the eritrian side withdrawn the match and will meet platinium stars from south africa.
in the confiderations cup, haras el hdoud passed molodia’s hurdle. the match was very difficult as molodia played on defense and counter attacks; they also have a lot of talented players. but el haras managed to score from a header to put their legs in the round of 16 to meet with el akhdar from libya. if you know that el molodia lies in 15th place in algerian league (before last) you would probabaly wonder with me, is the algerian league very powerful or is the egyptian league very weak considering the performance of molodia !!!!!!!.
